Even more important that motion, one way to bring your simulator “alive” is to employ a bass shaker (also known as a tactile transducer). A bass shaker is a device which is made on the principle that low bass frequencies can be felt as well as heard. A shaker transmits low-frequency vibrations into various surfaces so that they can be felt by people. This is called tactile sound. Tactile transducers may augment a subwoofer. One benefit of tactile transducers is they produce little or no noise, if properly installed.
Adding multiple shakers can get complicated but if you only are going to get one, I would recommend the ButtKicker Advance —
Another great option to consider is a shaker pad. There are a few different options from Realteus, SRS & Andre’s shop. Each sound in your game elicits a response from the pad, triggering eight of the vibration zones, thanks to the Sound Capture design. This kind of exhilarating tactile feedback makes you feel like you are really part of the game.
You will feel each curb, road imperfection, turbulence, engine vibration, transmission/gear changes, impact, acceleration, deceleration, g forces, traction loss and more.
Another option that takes a bit more effort to set up is BassShaker pucks. You can place them on the 4 corners of your rig to simulate each tire.
